Twelve years ago, Dr. Amin became sensitive to the special challenges faced by youth in love with, or married to, someone of another faith. “It is not a question of being for or against such unions,” he thought. “They have be-come a simple fact of our life.” Today in the USA, according to his own survey, some 38% of Hindu, Jain or Sikh youths marry someone of Jewish, Christian or Muslim faith. “And rarely do they have an easy time of it,” he would observe. What was urgent was to provide them with pertinent information, kind guidance and genuine support. The forum. To that end, Dr. Amin es-tablished a non-profit forum, Interfaith-Shaadi.org, that has since assisted count-less individuals and couples, and through which he has personally guided some 1200 youths. The book. Now, he offers his knowledge and vast experience in a seminal guidebook, Interfaith Marriage: Share & Respect with Equality, (Mount Meru Publishing, Toron-to) focusing especially on: Dr. Dilip Amin has founded and led two Hindu institutions in the USA. He is a Director of the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition of the San Francisco Bay Area, a cer-tified speaker at Islamic Networks Group, and a Dharma Ambas-sador of Hindu American Foun-dation.
